The English cricket Team has been dealt a big blow ahead of the home test series against Sri Lanka. England have lost the services of Opening batter Zak Crawley after the batter got injured in the 3rd game against the West Indies while trying to take a catch at slips. He will be replaced by fellow opener Daniel Lawrence in the playing eleven.
Meanwhile, youngster Jordan Cox has been rewarded after he scored 3 tons, and in the county championship matches, he amassed 763 runs in 12 county championship matches.
England have also recalled seamer Olly Stone, who last donned the English Whites in 2021. He comes in as the replacement in place of Dillon Pennington, who is out with a hamstring issue.
England squad: Ben Stokes (c), Gus Atkinson, Shoaib Bashir, Harry Brook, Jordan Cox, Ben Duckett, Dan Lawrence, Ollie Pope, Matthew Potts, Joe Root, Jamie Smith (wk), Olly Stone, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.
