Zimbabwe has announced their squad for the upcoming 5-match T20 series against the touring Indians. Zimbabwe has named a fairly young squad for this series Antum Naqvi has been named in the squad even though his selection depends on when will he get Zimbabwean citizenship, guys like Tendai Chatara have made a return to the squad, whereas Ryan Burl and Sean Williams were not picked. The Squad is set to be led by Sikandar Raza
Naqvi is a Pakistani origin player born to Pakistani parents in Belgium he has applied for citizenship of Zimbabwe, and he plays for the Rhinos in Zimbabwe's domestic Cricket, he scored a 300 not out in one of the first-class games
Also returning to the squad are Dion Myers, Innocent Kaia and Milton Shumba. Clive Madande, Brian Bennett, Johnathan Campbell, Wellington Masakadza, Tadiwanashe Marumani and Faraz Akram have been retained from the squad that took on Bangladesh in the T20I series in April.
This will be the first test for Justin Simmons who took over the reins from Dave Houghton, he left his post after Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024
The series is set to begin from July 6
