In a shocking turn of events, star Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has switched states in the domestic circuit as he has made a move from Mumbai to Goa for the upcoming domestic season. The Star Indian opener has also received the NOC (No Objection Certificate) certificate from the Mumbai Cricket Association.
The speed at which things have unfolded has sent shockwaves in the cricketing fraternity as Jaiswal received the NOC from the MCA in just about an hour. It is reported that the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) has offered Jaiswal the captaincy to Jaiswal. A position that wasn't available for Jaiswal at the Mumbai setup due to the presence of stalwarts in the lineup, Ajinkya Rahane (Red-ball format) & Shreyas Iyer (White-Ball format) lead Mumbai in the domestic circuit.
"I have had the opportunity to play for Mumbai & I feel privileged that I got the opportunity to play for Mumbai. But, now after careful consideration & keeping my future cricket aspirations & personal reasons in mind, I've now decided to move on & continue my cricket in Goa," Jaiswal wrote to the MCA.

At the time of making this decision Jaiswal was at Guwahati with his IPL team Rajasthan Royals boarding a flight to Chandigarh, where they'll take on the Punjab Kings. It is believed that he had received the NOC even before he took the flight to Chandigarh.
"I can assure you that this decision is made in good faith, and the association has helped me in every possible way. I'm willing to comply & work according to the BCCI's player transfer regulations."
"I kindly request to grant me NOC for the same at the earliest so that I can complete the formalities with the Goa Cricket Association," he has stated in his letter.
Jaiswal is not the only big name to have left Mumbai; a couple of seasons ago, left-arm seamer Arjun Tendulkar, too, had made a move to Goa. Goa though is a state in West but it comes under the South Zone in BCCI's zonal system.
Jaiswal made his Mumbai debut in 2019. He has gone on to play 63 games, 10 in the Ranji Trophy, 25 matches in List A & 28 in the T20I format.
