Former Indian Wicket-Keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha has announced his retirement from all forms of the game. The veteran will call it quits after the end of this 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season.
Saha, Who has played 40 test matches for India announced his decision through a social media post.
After a cherished journey in cricket, this season will be my last. I’m honored to represent Bengal one final time, playing only in the Ranji Trophy before I retire. Let’s make this season one to remember! pic.twitter.com/sGElgZuqfP

Saha made his international debut in 2010 against the visiting South Africans. In his 40- matches test career Saha scored 1353 runs at an average just a shade under 30 (29.41).
Saha was in and out of the team due to regular keeper and skipper MS Dhoni's presence in the side. It was after Dhoni's test retirement in 2014 that Saha became the regular face behind the sticks.
On the IPL front, Saha has featured in 170 games playing in all the seasons of the IPL since its inception. In his 16-year IPL journey, he has represented Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab (Now Punjab Kings), Sunrisers Hyderabad & lastly the Gujarat Titans, with whom he won a title in 2022.
Saha also played one of the beautiful knocks in an IPL final in 2014 when the Punjab Kings were playing against the Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru. His knock of 115, sadly ended in a losing cause as the Knight Riders from Kolkata clinched their second IPL title.
Saha is currently preparing for Bengal's fourth-round fixture against Karnataka in Bengaluru, having returned to the team after spending two years as a player-mentor with Tripura. He had returned to Bengal following a meeting with Sourav Ganguly, the former India captain.
