Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest batter to score a century in T20 Cricket while representing the Rajasthan Royals against the Gujarat Titans, smashing a magnificent ton (101 off 38 balls) playing at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
The young pocket rocket from Bihar made his IPL debut against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the very same venue, scoring a quickfire 16. Sooryavanshi played another cameo against RCB, scoring another quick knock of 34.
Though these knocks were not big, they provided ample size to the cricketing world of what Suryavanshi boasts of as a player for the future. Suryavanshi, replacing his Rajasthan Royals skipper, Sanju Samson, albeit temporarily, has managed to fill in the shoes of the Indian batter.
Born on 27th March 2011, in Samastipur District of Bihar, India, Vaibhav held a cricket bat for the first time when he was merely 4 years old. Since then, Suryavanshi has risen through the ranks quickly to earn an IPL contract, representing RR in the IPL, smacking a ton in just his third IPL game.
Although he is still in his teenage years & raw, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has a great cricketing career ahead with his attacking & at the same time stylish left-handed batting, the young batting maestro also demonstrates the ability to bowl left-arm orthodox spin.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his first-class debut representing Bihar against Mumbai at the age of 12 years & 284 days in January last year. With this, he achieved a milestone of becoming the second youngest player to represent Bihar at the Ranji Trophy level & fourth overall.
In November last year he became the youngest player to debut in T20 Cricket representing Bihar at the age of 13 years & 241 days against Rajasthan.
Suryavanshi made his U-19 debut for India against Australia U-19 in a match in September last year, scoring a 58-ball century, becoming the fastest player to score a ton on U-19 test debut.
In September 2023, Suryavanshi had played for the India B U-19 side in a quadrangular series, plundering 177 runs in 6 innings that included two half-centuries.
