Star Sri-Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been named in the Sri Lankan ODI squad for the three-match ODI rubber against the Kiwis. Hasaranga had previously missed the home series against the very same side due to a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, Dunith Wellalage who lost his spot in the T20I setup, has managed to retain his place in the ODI's.

Sri Lanka have made four changes to their squad for the NZ tour as they have excluded Dushan Hemantha, Kusal Perera, Sadeera Samarawickrama & Dilshan Madushanka. Kusal Perera made a comeback into the ODI setup for the first time in the ODI world Cup in 2023.

Besides Hasaranga, Sri Lanka have also brought in batter Nuwanidu Fernando, who made his debut against India in 2023 and has featured in five ODIs.

Fast bowler Lahiru Kumara makes a return after last playing the format in March in Bangladesh this year. Sri Lanka have also rewarded the uncapped medium-pacer Eshan Malinga for the 50-over games.

Eshan Malinga will be looking to make the most of the opportunity in the national colors. Malinga was recently snapped up by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 1.2 Crores in the IPL mega auctions for 2025.

The tour will starts off with T20Is on December 28. The three ODIs will be played on January 5, 8 and 11.
