The 48th edition of Copa America was hosted in Germany, where Argentina lifted their 16th Copa America Title and in the process successfully defended their title. They had won the tournament in the last edition too beating Brazil in the final.
By winning the final against Columbia Argentina achieved another feat by winning the title most times (16), overtaking Uruguay who have won 15 titles.
The tournament has been running since 1916, and in 1975 it was rebranded to its current form.
