This is one Indian T20 League record that hasn't been surpassed in over 15 years. The left-arm spin of Pragyan Ojha was no match for a powerful hitter like Morkel. The batsman unleashed a devastating 125-meter strike that went over deep midwicket and beyond the Chepauk Stadium after being tossed in Morkel's direction. This continues to be the longest IPL six to yet.
One of the more unexpected names on the Indian T20 League's list of longest sixes is Praveen Kumar. For the Bangalore team, Praveen has struck the longest six, even with the likes of Gayle, Kohli, and AB de Villiers. Kumar gave Yusuf Pathan a long-on clubbing that almost avoided hitting the roof during a 2008 season match.
One of the most beautiful venues in the world, Dharamsala, is where Gilchrist first saw Langeveldt's slower ball. He then executed one of his signature flips over midwicket. Not only did the ball go over the ropes, but it also left the stadium and most likely ended somewhere on the plains.
Dwayne Bravo was one of the Indian T20 League's most proficient and productive death-overs bowlers for the last fifteen years. But one of the biggest hits in the history of the event found its way to him. Early on, Robin Uthappa identified a length ball on the stumps and struck it so hard that it vanished into the Wankhede Stadium crowd.
Gayle smashed so hard on his way to an amazing 66-ball 175* that day that not even a train could have stopped him. He hit 17 sixes, the largest of which was 119 meters in length. Ali Murtaza, a left-arm spinner, forced one into the gap, and Gayle's impeccable swing sent the ball sailing past long-on and onto the Chinnaswamy Stadium roof.
Astonishing records have been set throughout IPL, let's hope to get more records made and broken by the end of IPL 2024.
