Let's find out which teams have reached the maximum points in a single IPL season.

Teams With Most Points In IPL Season

1. Rajasthan Royals- 22 Points (2008)

The winners of the Inaugural season, the Rajasthan Royals, also accumulated the highest points in that edition & became the first team to have the most points in a single IPL edition. The Royals, led by the late Shane Warne, won 11 matches out of 14 games to seal a berth in the playoffs. The Rajasthan-based franchise went on to beat Chennai Super Kings in the finals.

2. Delhi Capitals- 22 Points (2012)

Delhi Daredevils(now Capitals) became the second team to achieve this feat. Delhi, led by Virender Sehwag, had a dream run, winning 11 games out of 16 to get to 22 points & claim not only the first place but also a ticket to the first qualifier. Unfortunately, the Delhi side crashed out of the tournament in the second qualifier to the eventual champions, Kolkata Knight Riders. This also meant that the Delhi Capitals became the first team to not win the IPL title after finishing at the top spot in the league table.
