Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have appointed Sridharan Sriram as their assistant bowling coach ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. He joins an experienced coaching staff led by Stephen Fleming (head coach), Michael Hussey (batting coach), and Eric Simons (bowling consultant).

Sriram played eight ODIs for India and had short stints in the IPL with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (2010) and Delhi Capitals (2011). The 49 year old has plenty of coaching experience both domestic & international as he was spin bowling coach of the Australian Cricket team for a good amount of time. In the domestic & franchise circuit he has coaching stints with RCB, DC, PBKS & most recently with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

At CSK, Sriram will oversee a talented spin department featuring Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Gopal and Noor Ahmad.

After his playing career ended, Sriram served as spin-bowling coach and then as the assistant coach of the Australia men's cricket team from 2016 to 2022. In his tenure, Australia won the 2021 Men's T20 World Cup in the UAE, their first ever title in the shortest format of the game.

CSK kick off their IPL 2025 campaign at home against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians on March 23.
