Former Punjab pacer Siddharth Kaul has announced his retirement from Indian Cricket effective immediately as he hangs his boots after a 17-year career that began in a first-class game at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali. The former Indian pacer made his India debut in 2018 in India's Tour Of England. Kaul represented India 3 ODI's & as many T20I matches. Kaul announced his decision to retire on Instagram.

"When I was a child playing cricket in the fields in Punjab, I had one dream. A dream to represent my country. In 2018, by God's grace, I received my India Cap Number 75 in the T20I team and Cap Number 221 in the ODI team," he wrote. "The time has now come to call time on my career in India and announce my retirement."

Kaul is fondly remembered for his performances and presence in the 2008 U-19 World Cup, which India won under Virat Kohli's leadership. He was a regular candidate in the domestic side for Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Kaul played a pivotal role in helping Punjab win the SMAT last year by picking up 16 wickets in 10 games. Kaul was also the highest wicket-taker for Punjab in the previous year's Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Kaul also plied his trade overseas by playing in the county championship in England playing for the Northamptonshire earlier in the year. Kaul also featured in Ranji trophy games this season where he ended up wicketless. In all, Kaul has participated in 88 first-class matches snapping up 297 wickets at an average of 26.77

Kaul has also featured in 55 IPL matches playing for four different IPL teams Delhi Daredevils (Now Capitals), Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Kings XI Punjab (Now Punjab Kings) & Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Kaul in 55 games picked up 58 wickets, where 37 of which were picked up in the 2017 & 2018 seasons for SRH that helped them play the finals in 2018. Two great seasons with the ball rewarded him with a place in the Indian side on their tour of England in 2018. Kaul was also a member of the Indian team that won the Asia Cup in UAE in 2018. Kaul last featured for India in an ODI in 2019.
