Veteran Indian Opener Shikhar Dhawan has immediately called it quits from all forms of the game. The veteran Indian opener last featured for India in an ODI against Bangladesh in December 2022 at Mirpur.

Dhawan played his last T20I game against Sri Lanka in July 2021, in a series in which he was playing the role of a captain. He played a test match way back in 2018.
Shikhar last appeared in an IPL game earlier this season playing for Punjab Kings. However, his tournament was cut short by a shoulder injury, that eventually ensured that he had to withdraw from the tournament.
In his retirement post, Dhawan thanked his family, friends, and coaches who helped him grow as a Cricketer and a better human being.
Dhawan came into the spotlight after his heroics in the 2004 U-19 World Cup where he was the leading run-scorer of the tournament.
In 2013 he made his Test Debut for India in a test match against Australia at Mohali in the all-important Border-Gavaskar Trophy. On a batting-friendly deck, Dhawan explored all the shots in his armory leading his way to the fastest test ton by an Indian in 85 balls.
In the very same year, Dhawan's heroics in the Champions Trophy in England led India to a title win and Dhawan was awarded with a golden bat.
He is also remembered for his brilliant knock of 137 against South Africa in the 2015 ODI World Cup in Australia, helping India to beat South Africa for the first time in the ODI World Cups.
Dhawan did the icing on the cake by delivering an important ton against Australia in the 2019 ODI World Cup at the Kia Oval, despite carrying an injury.
