Shafali Verma has failed to secure her place in the all-important Women's ODI World Cup, slated to be held in September this year. Meanwhile, fast bowler Renuka Singh Thakur has made it to the 15-member squad after a long injury layoff.
Thakur will make her international comeback in the three-match ODI series against Australia in September ahead of the World Cup. Renuka missed the tri-series in Sri Lanka involving the hosts & South Africa due to a foot injury.
Pace-bowling allrounder Amanjot Kaur has also been included in the World Cup squad but has been rested for the Australia series in the build-up.
The first two ODIs of the three-match series against Australia will be played in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, on September 14 and 17, respectively, while the final game is scheduled for Delhi on September 20.
Hosts India will kick off their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on September 30.
