Avani Lekhara & Mona Agarwal have bagged Gold and Bronze medals respectively at Paralympics

India has opened their account in the Paris Paralympics, with Avani Lekhara & Mona Agarwal bagging the gold and bronze medals respectively in the 10m air rifle final.

India as of now has two medals on the second day of the Paralympics, more medals are expected at the end of the day.

Avani Lekhara has not only defended her gold medal but also bettered her performance at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2020, At Tokyo she scored 249.6, she bettered that tally with 249.7.

In the qualifying round, Avani shot 625.8 to be placed behind Iryna Shchetnik, she broke the Paralympic qualification record by scoring 627.5. Mona Agarwal won the bronze medal, is a two-time World Cup medalist, and scored 623.5 in her maiden Paralympics appearance.
