"Najmul has suffered a groin injury while fielding against Afghanistan in the second ODI" Hossain Stated.
Shanto played a crucial role for Bangladesh scoring a good knock of 76 off 84 balls to help Bangladesh win the second ODI & level the series against Afghanistan. BCB's seniro physician Dr. Debashis Chowdhury has confirmed that Shanto is officially ruled out of the ongoing ODI series & the West Indies series that starts in this month itself.
"Shanto went for an MRI scan in Sharjah yesterday." we've received a report from the team physio confirming that he has suffered a grade 2 tear in the left groin that subsequently ruled him out from the final ODI against Afghanistan & the test series against the West Indies. The injury will require a proper rest & rehabilitation, Shanto will leave for Bangladesh immediately to begin with his rehab program"
Bangladesh's star all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz is expected to lead the side in the third ODI in Najmul's absence, he is also expected to lead the test side against the West Indies. Bangladesh are already without their key players Mushfiqur Rahim (Finger fracture) & Mustafizur Rahman (personal reason).
