Mitchell Marsh the current Australian T20I skipper, states he isn't able to focus on the tactics and strategies for the World Cup as he is still recovering from a Hamstring injury that he sustained during the IPL.
While having a chat with the Perth reporters on Tuesday he stated that he's "still a couple of weeks away" from regaining full fitness but is confident about being ready for the World Cup come June 1.
"If we had to play tomorrow, I'd be in a bit of trouble," the 32-year-old said. "Still a couple of weeks away (from full fitness). The timing probably sits perfectly, barring any setbacks. I'll be on the plane, ready to go.
"The hammy is good, it's coming along really well. It's pretty much exactly where we want it to be. It's one of those things. Just got to get it right over the next three weeks and get on the plane."
Speaking about the squad announced on Wednesday Chief Selector George Bailey stated that they will have to look after the workload of Mitchell Marsh, especially while bowling.
Australia will open their World Cup campaign on June 6 against Oman, it will be the first time when Marsh will lead the side on a full-time basis after having done the same role previously on an interim basis.
