Matthew Breetzke Gets a Look In As SA Announce Squad For West Indies Tests

South African white ball opener Matthew Breetzke has earned a maiden call-up into the test squad ahead of the test series against West Indies

The squad competed in the Test Series against new Zealand in their backyard earlier this year. Only David Bedingham, Dane Paterson and Dane Piedt have managed to retain their places. Ryan Rickleton who had a great season at SA20 is also recalled into the squad.

South Africa is currently placed 7th in the WTC rankings, they lost a crucial away tour against New Zealand where an inexperienced South Africa played. They are playing two tests on this away tour before another one awaits them in Bangladesh with the same amount of games. South Africa in their home summer will host Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Players who are not plying their trade in any T20 league will have a four-day camp in Durban before they jet off to the West Indies. The first test is scheduled to begin on August 7 in Port Of Spain. The second test commences on August 15 in Guyana.
