South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj is ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing ODI series against Pakistan at home. Maharaj got injured during training in the first ODI. The subsequent scans have revealed that he has a left abductor strain.
This update is a day after South Africa chose to name him in the Test squad, despite his injury, for the two home games that are crucial for them to qualify for the World Test Championship final (2023-25) at Lord's.
A release came from the CSA stating that Maharaj is heading back to Durban, where his rehabilitation will begin a week before the first test on December 26.
