Karnataka State Cricket Association in a statement to Cricbuzz Stated the reason for this shift of the First game to Bengaluru

KSCA's Statement To Cricbuzz

We have agreed to host the game, this request was made by the BCCI to hold the first game of the Duleep Trophy at Bangalore. KSCA Spokesperson stated

The reason to include the Indian players in Domestic Cricket competition is to give the team an ideal preparation before they embark on a home tour with 5 tests against Bangladesh and New Zealand ( 2 tests vs Bangladesh) & 3 vs New Zealand.

The regulars in the Indian Team barring Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah, are likely to play in the tournament From Ravindra Jadeja to KL Rahul all are likely to feature.

Hardik Pandya is the player who wasn't considered, as, the All-rounder from Vadodara has not played any Test Match Cricket for India since 2018. Veteran Pace Bowler Mohammad Shami is also not going to feature in the tournament as he is at the NCA recovering from an injury that has kept him out of the game for 8 months.

This decision to include the National Team players in a domestic tournament is due to many Indian players in the past skipping the domestic tournaments, this came more into light when Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer refused to take part in the domestic Cricket.

The Duleep Trophy event is a multi-day team event with no Knockout matches. The tournament will conclude on September 22.
