Sachin batted in 329 innings scoring 15,921 runs at an average of 53.8 with 68 half centuries and 51 centuries. Sachin Tendulkar scored his 9000th test run in 2004 taking 179 innings in the process.

2. Rahul Dravid

One legend follows the other, this time it's 'The Wall' Rahul Dravid. Playing at a pivotal position at number 4, Dravid batted in 284 innings scoring 13,265 runs at an average of 52.6 with 68 fifties and 36 hundreds. Rahul Dravid achieved the 9000th landmark the quickest among all of them in just 176 innings in 2006.

3. Sunil Gavaskar

The List of legends continues as it is the turn of 'Little Master' aka Sunil Gavaskar who batted for India in 214 innings scoring 10122 test runs at an average of 51.1 with 45 fifties & 34 centuries. The Little Master achieved 9000 test runs record in 1985 in 192 innings.

4. Virat Kohli

The 'King' is the latest man to enter this list, Virat Kohli became a member of this elite list in the ongoing test match between India and New Zealand at Bengaluru. Before this test Kohli was 53 runs away from reaching this milestone, Kohli successfully breached this milestone in the 2nd innings. India's Number 3 has batted in 197 innings for India, scoring 9017 runs at an average of just a shade under 50 (48.9) with 31 centuries & 29 centuries.
