The Men In Blue have beaten Australia 3-2 in its final group game of Pool B in the Paris Olympics. This is India's first Olympic win over Australia since 1972 in Munich.
India got off to a strong start by running up a 2-0 lead heading into the second quarter. Abhishek scored a goal in the 12th minute he scored his second in as many games. Skipper Harmanpreet then converted a Penalty Corner in the 13th minute.

Australia then fought back hard and opened their account in the 25th Minute via a goal scored by Thomas Craig. Coming to the third quarter Harmanpreet took the score to 3-1 in favor of India after converting a Penalty Corner. The ball in the process had hit Flynn Ogilvie’s foot in the process which the umpire didn't spot.
Australia still fought till the end and scored a goal in the last quarter giving India a scare. But the Men In Blue kept their cool and won the game.
