The ICC announced seven new additions to the ICC Hall of Fame on Monday, inducting the greats of the game at a Gala event in Abbey Studios in London. The seven inductees included Indian legend & former captain MS Dhoni, Australian legend Matthew Hayden, gun all-rounder Daniel Vettori of New Zealand, South African duo of Hashim Amla & Graeme Smith, Pakistan's Sana Mir & England's Sarah Taylor conclude the list.
ICC Chair Jay Shah welcomed the new inductees, saying:
"Through the ICC Hall Of Fame, we pay tribute to some of the finest cricketers who have played this beautiful game, their careers have been remarkable & have also inspired future generations to take up cricket as a profession". ' Shah said.
“This year we are privileged to have inducted 7 legends of the game, on behalf of the International Cricket Council,(ICC), I extend heartfelt congratulations to each one of them, I hope they cherish this moment & enjoy this recognition as a defining journey of their cricketing career.”

The dashing yet destructive left-handed opener from Australia, Matthew Hayden, was a pillar of the Australian batting in the previous generation. Hayden, known for his aggressive nature of batting, used to take down opposition single-handedly.
Hayden played 273 International matches for Australia (103 tests, 161 ODIs & 9 T20Is), scoring 8,625 runs, 6133 & 308 runs respectively.
"The ICC Hall of Fame includes some of my personal favorite cricketers of yesteryears, whom I've competed against; the journey was fantastic," Hayden stated.

Star South African opener Hashim Amla was a revelation for the South African batting lineup, scoring runs with utmost ease. Amla became the first South African to have recorded a triple test ton (311*).
Amla played 349 International matches for South Africa with (124 tests, 181 ODIs & 44 T20Is), scoring 9282, 8113, 1277 runs in the three formats.

One of the most successful Test captains in history, Graeme Smith, led from the front as a gritty opening batter.
Smith was given the leadership role at age 22. Smith flourished in the role and became a key figure in South Africa’s rise to the No. 1 Test ranking. Smith played 347 international matches for South Africa (117 tests, 197 ODIs & 33 T20Is), scoring 9265, 6989 & 982 runs respectively.

The Indian legend & possibly the best Indian captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is one of the highlights of this inclusion.
The man is fondly remembered for the six that sealed the deal for the Men In Blue to win the 2011 ODI World Cup at home. Dhoni brought a new change to the art of wicket-keeping.
Dhoni is the only captain to have won all three trophies: the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup & 2013 Champions Trophy. Dhoni played 538 international matches for India (90 tests, 350 ODIs & 98 T20Is), scoring 4876, 10,773 & 1617 runs in his career.

A world-class left-arm spinner and handy lower-order batter, Daniel Vettori had an illustrious career.
He was one of the three players to have scored more than 4000 test runs & also picked more than 300 test wickets. Vettori currently serves as a coach for the Australian national team & as a head coach of the Sunrisers Hyderabad side in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Vettori donned the black jersey for 442 games (113 tests, 295 ODIs & 34 T20Is) scoring 4531, 2253 & 205 runs respectively.

A legend for Pakistan's Women's team is the first woman from Pakistan to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
Apart from her cricket career, Sana has inspired many Pakistani girls to pick up cricket as a profession. She’s known for advocating body positivity, mental health, and pandemic relief work.
Mir played 226 international games for her country (120 ODIs & 106 T20Is), scoring 2432 runs & 240 wickets combining both formats.
“From dreaming of a Women's cricket team in Pakistan, to now actually standing there has been a long but beautiful journey,” she said.
“I am honored for this feat & would like to thank my family, my coaches & my teammates for this achievement.”

England's star wicket-keeper batter Sarah Taylor is widely regarded as one of the finest wicket-keepers in Women's cricket in England. Sarah played a crucial role in England's World Cup wins in 2009 & 2017.
Sarah played 226 International matches for England (10 tests, 126 ODIs & 90 T20Is), scoring 6533 runs combining all three formats.
"Getting inducted into the ICC Hall Of Fame is definitely one of the best moments of my life, it's like a dream come true moment for me," Taylor said.
"Women's cricket has seen some rapid growth in recent years & to get this award at this juncture of time makes it even more special."
