The Indian Premier League (IPL) in the last 2-3 seasons has seen a rapid rise in terms of batting, with teams now playing a more aggressive brand of cricket, posting a huge total on the board in their innings. Currently, Sunrisers Hyderabad holds the record for the highest team total in the history of the IPL.

Sunrisers Hyderabad hold the record for the highest total scored in the history of the IPL against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the year 2024. SRH opting to bat first started on a positive note as Travis Head went berserk & went on to score a whirlwind knock of 102 in just 41 balls at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The Orange Army holds the record for the 2nd highest total ever scored in the history of IPL. The Pat Cummins-led SRH has already lit up the ongoing season with this display of batting in just the second match of the season against the Rajasthan Royals. Ishan Kishan top scored for the Sunrisers with 106 at Hyderabad.
This time it was the turn of the 5-time champions Mumbai Indians & its newly appointed skipper Hardik Pandya to feel the heat of the onslaught at Hyderabad. After the fifties from Abhishek Sharma & Travis Head, it was the turn of the South African southpaw Heinrich Klaasen to exercise his big hitting. Klaasen went berserk & scored a quickfire 80 off just 34 deliveries, hitting 4 fours & 7 sixes.
The Kolkata Knight Riders recorded their highest IPL total against the Delhi Capitals, scoring a mind-boggling 272-7 in 20 overs in Vishakhapatnam. Sunil Narine took down the Delhi bowlers, scoring a quickfire 85 off 39 balls. He was well supported by Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who scored a half-century. Cameos from Andre Russell, Shreyas Iyer & Rinku Singh propelled KKR to this huge score.
The orange army chose the capital city this time to launch another onslaught of high-class batting. In this game, SRH recorded the highest ever powerplay score in the history of the IPL (125-0 in 6 Overs). The SRH openers just smashed everything that was thrown at them with ease & to all corners of the park. Travis Head scored a brilliant 89 off 32 while Abhishek Sharma ended up with 46 off just 12 balls.
