In a tragic turn of events, former England Cricketer Graham Thorpe has passed away today aged 55. The England Cricket Board confirmed in a statement. Thorpe was admitted to the hospital in 2022. He had fallen seriously ill at that time the prognosis was not clear at that stage.
Thorpe was an elegant left-handed batter he played 182 games for England 100 Tests and 82 ODI's. He was also the batting coach of the England Senior Men's team.
He started his career with an Ashes Ton on debut in 1993 at Trent Bridge. Thorpe scored close to 7000 runs in test Cricket (6744). He scored scored 2380 runs in the ODI format. He had a great stint in the county circuit too for Surrey Cricket Club he scored 21 thousand runs for Surrey in First Class Cricket.
He was one of our greatest batters, he was loved by all in the Cricketing family, and one of the legends of the game. he has achieved a lot for the England Cricket Team in his 13-year-old career. He was a crowd favorite, people loved to watch him bat, and he has received wonderful support from fans across the World. Later as a coach he helped the upcoming players to make a career at the highest level of the game.
