Faruque Ahmed has represented Bangladesh in 7 ODIs. Previously he had been appointed as the chief selector in the panel from 2003-2007 and 2013-2016. He resigned from his post midway through his tenure as he was not ready to accept that the selection panel was expanding to a three-member committee.
Bangladesh is currently playing Pakistan in an away tour comprising two test matches set to be played at Rawalpindi.
