Durand Cup: Epic Clash Between Mohun Bagan And East Bengal Abandoned

The most awaited and mouthwatering clash in the Kolkata derby between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal has been abandoned due to security reasons. The Durand Cup committee on Saturday announced the decision.

Durand Committee's Statement

"On behalf of the Durand Committee, we regret to announce that the Group A clash between Mohun Bagan SG and East Bengal FC which was scheduled to be played at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharti Krirangan, Kolkata on 18th August 2024 has been abandoned"

The veteran team Mohun Bagan is currently in the first position in Group A with 2 wins and having 6 points having a goal difference of 7. East Bengal also has 6 points but the goal difference is low (4) as compared to Mohun Bagan.

The Durand Committee also announced the criteria so that fans can get their refunds.

"The refund process is all set to begin from the 19th of August, fans can bring their tickets to the booking counters from where they purchased their tickets"

No further date has been decided yet to reschedule the game.
