Former Indian Wicket-Keeper batter Dinesh Karthik will become the First Indian to feature in the upcoming third season of SA20 starting in January. Karthik will be playing for the Paarl Royals which is the sister franchise of the Rajasthan Royals.
Karthik had earlier announced that he would be hanging up his boots after the end of IPL 2024. Karthik was representing the Bangalore-based franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where they went to the 2nd Qualifier losing to Rajasthan Royals.

Karthik soon after ending his playing career was asked to become the batting coach of the same franchise he represented.
Karthik was earlier appointed as the Ambassador of SA20 along with former Protea Cricketer and Karthik's Former RCB mate AB De Villiers.
Karthik Stated In an interview that it was an opportunity he could not refuse. Karthik was a regular face in the IPL in his 17-year-old career, Karthik played in 257 IPL games scoring 4842 runs at an average of 26 and a strike rate of 135.
