India's Archery Dream Is Over

Indian Archer Deepika Kumari suffered a heartbreaking loss in the Women's Individual Archery Quarter Final at the hands of Korea's Suheyon Nam by 4-6 to end India's Archery campaign.

Deepika had beaten Germany's Michelle Kroppan in the pre-quarterfinals by a margin of 6-4 earlier in the day.

The two rivals were locked in at 4-4 sets each, however, Nam held her nerves and won the last set to advance to the Semi-Finals. Deepika has been criticized for her inconsistency in the tournament. Deepika scored 6 and 7-pointers in her 2nd and 4th set which held her back.

Deepika scored 28-26 in the first to take a lead of 2 points. She scored 10,6 and 9 in the second set, Nam bought the equation to parity in the second set with scores of 28-25.

Deepika again took the lead, winning the third set 29-28. The Indian then scored 10, 7, 10 to lose the fourth set 27-29.
In the final round, Deepika scored 9 points three times, losing to Nam who scored 10, 9, and 10.
