Joao Felix, Robert Lewandowski, and Fermin Lopez all scored goals as Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid 3-0 on the road in La Liga. With the victory, Atleti's 25-game winning streak at the Metropolitano came to an end. Barca is now in second place in the league, eight points behind Real Madrid, after the outcome. Nine points behind in fifth place is Atletico Madrid.
Joao Felix returned to haunt his parent team, scoring Barcelona's first goal and leading the team to a 3-0 victory against Atletico Madrid. Even though it was only the Portuguese forward's fifth start of the season—he was on loan at Barcelona—he made the most of his opportunity in the 39th minute.
Barcelona manager Xavi, was sent off for insulting the referees, but the team had been sluggish to start before finding its rhythm. Robert Lewandowski extended Barcelona's advantage two minutes into the second half with a superb finish from a close range. The seasoned Polish attacker then transformed into a facilitator, sending Fermin Lopez the ideal cross to seal the victory. Atletico's home league record of being undefeated was shattered in the last minutes when Nahuel Molina was given red for bringing down Vitor Roque. Atletico is one point out of the top four Champions League spots, while Barcelona is still eight points behind leaders Real Madrid.
