Hosts Pakistan will be starting the tournament on February 19th against New Zealand at Karachi. Team India's matches & one semi-final have been moved to Dubai. The big-ticket clash between India & Pakistan is set to be played at Dubai on February 23.
Bangladesh are the fourth team in Group A alongside India, New Zealand and holders Pakistan. Group B has Afghanistan, South Africa, Australia and England. The first clash of Group B will see Afghanistan take on inaugural winners South Africa on February 21 in Karachi. The marquee fixture between Australia and England will be played on February 22 in Lahore.
The Champions Trophy, returning to the calendar after eight years, faced many challenges after BCCI refused to send their team to Pakistan. It was only on December 19 when the things got better when the PCB agreed on neutral venue process. The process is set to continue for three years for the India-Pakistan matches and for the tournaments that going to be held in India & Pakistan. The PCB chose UAE over Sri Lanka in choosing the neutral venue.
