All 10 of the IPL franchise owners have received invitations. The conference is purportedly intended for owners exclusively, however it is believed that owners may be joined by their CEOs and operational teams. It is anticipated that the discussion would cover important concerns. The meeting is scheduled to be attended by IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal, secretary Jay Shah, and BCCI president Roger Binny. The CEO of the IPL, Hemang Amin, is said to have written the letter about the meeting.

Amin has not released the meeting's agenda, but considering how unexpected the invitation was, it is likely that the BCCI will discuss a number of policy choices, chief among them those pertaining to the mega-auction that is slated for the next year.

Three-way possible arcs of discussion:

Some IPL owners contend that more teams should be retained since they have properly established themselves and need the stability to support their brand and fan base. Some even argue that there should be as many as eight retentions.

Another group, on the other hand, would rather have fewer retentions and is against such a large number. present's also talk of bringing back the Right to Match card, which was a feature of the previous mega-auction in 2022 but wasn't present this time. Only four were allowed at that time, a maximum of three Indians and two foreigners.

Another hot topic of conversation will be the pay cap, a topic that consistently sparks divergent viewpoints among the different IPL setup players, with the BCCI holding a firm position on the matter. The ceiling was established at INR 100 crore at the previous mini-auction, but it is anticipated to rise given the significant increase in the clubs' central income share that followed the BCCI's signing of an incredible INR 48,390 crore television agreement two years ago.
