India's ace all-rounder Arundhati Reddy was fined after she aggressively celebrated the wicket of Pakistani batter Nida Dar
The incident took place in the 20th over of the Pakistani innings when Reddy aggressively pointed her finger towards the Pakistani dressing room after dismissing Nida Dar. This was her first offense in the 24-month period which is specified by ICC while giving demerit points. Four demerit points in this period will lead to a match ban.
"Arundhati Reddy has breached the ICC's guidelines, according to article 2.5 of ICC's code of conduct for players and player support personnel, that relates to using or making aggressive gestures towards a batter upon his or her dismissal".
Reddy did not challenge the sanction proposed against her, hence no hearing for required.
coincidentally, Reddy was named as the man of the match in the game against Pakistan. India next face Sri Lanka in their World Cup fixture at Dubai.
